Step 1
Choose a subject for your future drawing and a drawing method. You can paint with watercolors, gouache and other materials. If you have at least a little experience with one of the techniques, give preference to it. A landscape is much easier to paint than, for example, an architectural composition. This is ideal for beginners. Therefore, refrain from adding complex elements to the drawing, let only nature be on it.
Step 2
Start with the background. To paint the sky, mix cyan, blue and white paints until you get the desired hue on the palette. You should apply this tone with a brush to the entire upper part of the picture. Be sure to keep the horizon line flat across the entire width, otherwise the drawing will be skewed. Paint the clouds with white paint over the blue in a circular motion. This will give you the effect of their airiness and translucency.
Step 3
Draw a forest in the background and a clearing in front of it. For the most realistic depiction of trees, paint in strokes. Make sure the trees create the composition. To do this, imagine the drawing first in your imagination, and then start transferring your idea to paper. Do not forget to stir the paint thoroughly on the palette, because on paper it will be a slightly different shade than in a tube. Also, try to use pure paints less often. Pair them with other colors for the most accurate shade.
Step 4
Add sunshine to your drawing. Create a clearing on it, which is flooded with light. You can achieve this effect by taking a yellow paint from the palette with a semi-dry brush. Apply it over the previously created pattern. In a clearing, you can depict flowers using the same brushstroke technique as when creating a group of trees.
