Instructions
Step 1
Painting landscapes is great for developing visual skills and imagination. And finished works can not only decorate your home, but also become an excellent gift for friends and acquaintances for the holidays. The winter landscape is considered to be simpler in the image due to the lack of a large number of colors and their shades. Such paintings can be done with just one simple pencil. At first, it will be easier to draw a winter landscape, having a photograph in front of my eyes and copying from a non-image. Later, you can create pictures in your imagination and transfer them to paper.
Step 2
Choose a photograph from which you will sketch the landscape, or imagine in detail a fragment of winter nature. Place the sheet of paper in the desired orientation (horizontal or vertical, depending on the selected composition). Mark the horizon line and start filling in the lower part of the drawing with images of mountains, bodies of water, houses and trees. Don't forget about the laws of perspective and proportions. If you can't immediately depict the object of the desired size, use an eraser and repeat the sketch.
Step 3
When the main elements of the lower part of the picture are ready, you can proceed to drawing the sky. Depending on the selected time of day, indicate the desired degree of darkness of the sky using frequent shading. Draw clouds if necessary. This can be done in two ways: by pre-marking their contours and bypassing them while painting over the sky, or using an eraser, carefully erasing the shapes of the desired shape in the filled space.
Step 4
Choose a place for the celestial body in the picture and emphasize the three-dimensionality of all the depicted elements with the help of chiaroscuro. To do this, determine the direction of incidence of the light and, using hatching, make the sides of the objects opposite to it darker. Add shadows cast by objects on the ground - this will make the winter landscape even more realistic.
