Homemade games and toys often appeal to kids more than purchased ones. If you apply skill and imagination, you can make a wall game that can keep the baby busy for a long time and teach him a lot. This is a play mat with removable parts. Fragments are fastened or hung on buttons, buttons, plastic buckles and hooks - in a word, all the accessories that are in the box can be used.

Step 1
Make a sketch. Draw a square or rectangle to fit your rug. Think about what kind of picture you will put on it. The easiest way is to make a meadow with flowers. But there can be a city consisting of individual houses, a forest with trees, and a pond with ducks and geese. The details should be simple in shape so that they can be knitted comfortably.
Step 2
Tie the actual rug. The main knitting is single crochet. Tie a sample, wash it and calculate the number of air loops. Tie a chain, make 1 stitch, and knit a row of simple stitches as you normally would. Make a lift loop at the beginning of each row. You should now have a rectangle.
Step 3
For the meadow, you will also need blades of grass, flowers and butterflies. Start knitting the blade of grass with 4-6 stitches. Tie a chain, make a loop on the rise, then knit 2-3 centimeters with simple columns. Then make a loop by knitting 2 air loops over the two columns of the previous row. Then knit again with simple columns. You need to make 2 or 3 such loops, depending on the length of the blade of grass. After the last loop, smoothly lower the loops, calling 2 stitches together along the edges in 3-4 rows. In the end, you should be left with 1 loop. You can tighten it and hide the thread. But you can also make a loop on it. Tie a few more of these blades of grass.
Step 4
For a flower, make a chain of 5-8 air loops and close it in a circle. The flower will be fastened in the middle, so choose a suitable button in advance. Work 10-15 double crochets into a ring. Make sure the posts are evenly spaced and the circle is flat. At the beginning of the second row, tie 2 loops on the rise. You can knit this row column to column, making additions at regular intervals. But you can also make a flower with petals. For example, after the initial stitches, tie 1 double crochet, 2 double crochets, 2 double crochets, 1 half crochet. Knit the following petals according to the pattern * 2 double crochets, 2 double crochets, 2 double crochets, 1 half-crochet *. The last loop should be a half-column. You can tie any other flowers. It is even better if they are different.
Step 5
Tie the butterfly from separate parts. For the head, make a circle with a hole in the center, exactly the same as for the flower. Her body consists of two ovals. Ovals can be connected, for example, like this. Make a chain of 7-10 stitches, but do not close it in a circle. Work 1 row with single crochets. When you reach the first loop, tie 3-4 single crochets into it, and knit the next row, turning the work so that the first loop of the initial chain is on the right. The chain loops should be between two rows of simple posts. Then knit in a spiral, knitting 3-4 loops into the final loops. Knit the second part of the body in the same way. Sew all three pieces together. For the wings, tie 2 wide triangles and 2 narrow and long ones. In large ones, you can make loops so that they also fasten to the carpet. Sew on the wings. If you want the baby to constantly collect the same picture, you can embroider antennae right on the carpet. This will be a reference point for the child.
Step 6
For a city or fortress, tie rectangles, squares, and triangles of different sizes. In each shape, make 1-2 loops. But the parts can also be attached to the buttons, then the holes do not need to be tied. Colored letters or numbers can be linked.
Step 7
Think about how you hang the rug. If the threads are very thick, and somewhere on the wall you have a flat wooden board, you can skip the gasket. Ideal - if batteries are covered with shields. Then attach 4 or 6 colored plastic hooks to the back of the shield. The corners will be attached to four hooks, and glue two between the top and bottom pairs. Tie loops of the same wool to the corners of the rug and to the middle of the horizontal sides. Sew on buttons, hooks and buttons. Fasten the necessary parts with your child.
Step 8
If a suitable shield is not available, you can hang the rug directly on the wall. Cut a rectangle out of the paraplen exactly along the contours of the carpet. Sew it with the same threads to the wrong side of your garment. Tie the rug itself with braid of the same color or tone. Since your creation is quite tough, you can hang it on one hook.
