Lubrication plays an important role in the operation of the rock drill. Here it is necessary to take into account a number of factors and take into account many parameters of the device and the oil itself. Different types of lubricants are used for different parts of the hammer drill, which you need to be able to choose the right one.
It is necessary
lubricant from the manufacturer or Litol
Instructions
Step 1
Most rock drill models use manufacturer-specific lubricants. Litol can be called a universal lubricant for any device, which has a low cost and is available in any electrical store. However, if possible, it is better to purchase a branded grease, but it will cost more money. Branded grease is water resistant and prevents moisture from penetrating to metal surfaces, and this does not allow corrosion to appear. "Litol" does not work for a long time in comparison with oils of well-known manufacturers. It must be smeared in a larger amount than branded oils, which also affects the operation of the device. MC-1000 grease is widely used, which can increase the service life of the friction units of the device. Bosch grease works best for the gearbox, but it is quite expensive. Metabo oil can be a good substitute.
Step 2
Most modern rock drills have a corresponding grease fill compartment. Open the instructions for use of the device and find the corresponding point, which gives a disassembly diagram. Locate the grease tray according to the documentation.
Step 3
Fill in the required amount of oil according to the instructions. Close the punch tray in the same way. You can get to work.
Step 4
If necessary, lubricate the drill shank, for which Litol or Solidol is suitable. If the cartridge of the device is open, then also lubricate the oil seal, having previously disassembled it. It protects the device from dirt and dust.
Step 5
Only lubricate the gearbox if the warranty has expired. In some cases, it will be necessary to open the instrument, which is best done in a workshop. At home, such a procedure can result in tool breakage.
