The easiest way to make a staff is from wood. The tree is easy to process and affordable, and if you wish, you can give any tree the desired texture and shade using staining and color impregnation. Purchase a long pine bar to create the staff.

Such a bar usually has a square section, but since the staff has a cylindrical shape, you will need to cut the purchased bar well. First, measure the desired length of the staff on the bar and cut off the excess with a hacksaw.
Step 3
Using a well-sharpened plane, begin to gently shave off the wood at the corners of the log, gradually giving it a rounded shape. Continue shaving and modifying the wood until it is as flat and tidy as possible along its entire length.
Step 4
After the rounding is finished, take a knife or wood cutters and complete the staff with the carving you intended. Cut out some previously thought-up pattern, leaves, flowers or some other objects on it, after carefully sanding the surface of the tree with sandpaper.
Step 5
You can make the staff more effective by putting on a tip made of duralumin on its top. Also, a metal tip is required for the lower end of the staff so that it does not wear out on hard surfaces.
Step 6
After finishing the thread, grind the staff completely and polish it. Wipe off sanding dust with a soft cloth or brush. Cover the staff with a suitable shade of stain, then varnish and leave to dry for a couple of days.
