The magic staff of Santa Claus is an indispensable attribute of the image of one of the most beloved children's characters. In addition to the fact that the gray-haired old man, generous with gifts, leans on his long staff when walking, with the help of this unusual object, Santa Claus also performs amazing miracles, calls on his faithful helpers for help and lights the New Year's beautiful fir tree with multi-colored flickering lights. This wonderful staff looks in full accordance with its magical purpose and the owner who commands the winter element.

It is necessary

  • - long thick stick;
  • - cotton wool, foam rubber;
  • - silver paint / foil;
  • - small foam crumbs;
  • - glue;
  • - double sided tape;
  • - Christmas tree tinsel / decorative ribbons / wrapping paper / rhinestones;
  • - ready-made tip for the Christmas tree / cardboard or foam for the tip of the staff.

Instructions

Step 1

Find a suitable base for the staff of Santa Claus. This could be a mop handle or a wooden handle from an old shovel. It is advisable to find a long straight stick with a sufficiently large diameter (approx. 4-5 cm), but if one is not found, then you can increase its volume by pasting it with a layer of cotton wool, unnecessary rags or foam ribbons. The height of the staff can also be "increased" to the desired size with the upper element.

Step 2

First, you need to give the staff a frosty, "icy" look. To do this, paint it silver with spray paints. If you are using a stick with a smooth surface, cover it with silver foil. The foil can be pre-wrinkled to make the texture more rough and crystalline.

Step 3

To give the effect of "dusting" with snow, sprinkle the staff with small balls of styrofoam. Using a brush, apply glue to the staff in some places in random order. Then sprinkle some foam crumbs over the glue-covered areas and let the glue dry.

Step 4

Decorate the staff with shiny Christmas tree tinsel or pretty contrasting ribbons. Wrap the trim around the staff in a screw manner and attach the ends of the ribbons or tinsel with double-sided tape, and for better fixation, fasten the decoration in several places along the entire length of the staff.

Step 5

Now you need to make a beautiful tip of the staff. Its shape can be different: a star, a snowflake, a peak, an icicle, etc. You can use pre-made Christmas tree tops made from shatterproof materials, or cut the tip to your desired shape from cardboard or a piece of foam. Volumetric tips look beautiful and natural.

Step 6

Give the surface of the cut-out tip "icy" and "snowy" in the same way as described in the previous paragraphs. Although, you can decorate it in another way. For example, sprinkle it with completely white foam crumbs, make it silver or golden, and glue it with beautiful bright wrapping paper.

Step 7

Attach the tip to the staff with tape. Disguise the attachment point, for example, with a fluffy multilayer fringe made of Christmas tree "rain" or wrap it in lush beautiful tinsel. You can tie a beautiful bow with long ends that flutter as the staff moves. There can be many such ends.
