The costume of Santa Claus is sewn, and the beard of the main character of any New Year's party is also made. It remains only to make a staff. If you make a little effort and show your imagination, you can create an original backlit craft.
You will need:
- a thin straight stick 150 cm long;
- any children's toy with lighting (for example, a magic wand in the form of a ball or a star);
- foamed window insulation about a centimeter wide;
- metallized fabric ribbon (can be replaced with a regular satin one);
- glue gun;
- scotch tape;
- decorative metallized braid;
- rhinestones, stones and beads;
- a small piece of fur (its color - depending on the shade of the selected ribbons).
Take a prepared stick (this can be, for example, a mop stick) and glue a children's luminous toy to one end using scotch tape. Make sure the structure is well secured.
Wrap the product, excluding the luminous part, with self-adhesive insulation for windows. At this stage, it is worth remembering that it is necessary to glue the insulation in a spiral, while each turn should fit very tightly to the previous one. If it seems to you that the insulation does not adhere well, then in addition glue it with hot glue, then the product will be stronger.
Take a metallized tape, glue one end of it to the lower end of the staff, then wrap the product in a spiral with it, be sure to place each turn of the tape "overlapping" the previous one. Try to pull the ribbon as tightly as possible so that it does not sag anywhere.
Finish wrapping the staff with tape at the point where it joins the glowing toy, secure everything with glue. Decorate this place with a pre-prepared piece of fur or fur cord. When finishing, try to leave access to a change of batteries, a button that turns on the glow.
The most interesting stage is the decoration of the staff. At this stage, you can rely solely on your imagination and, for example, glue the entire product with rhinestones and beads, decorative braid, or you can only glue large stones in several places along its entire length. When decorating, it is worth remembering that if the staff is made for a holiday and there are satin mittens in the Santa Claus costume, then try to use those decorative elements that will not leave clues on these accessories in the future.
