We all love to listen to our favorite music in good quality. But sometimes we are willing to sacrifice quality for the sake of quantity. For example, when you need to upload music to an mp3 player, but there is not enough space on it. In this case, it is very useful to seek the help of audio editors.
It is necessary
Computer, any audio editor (e.g. Sonic Foundry Soundforge)
Instructions
Step 1
First, launch your audio editor (in this example, Sonic Foundry Sound Forge 9.0) and open the song you want to compress in it. You can do this in different ways - just drag the song into the workspace or click Open on the File menu. The file will appear in the working area.
Step 2
Now on the File menu, click Save As, or press Alt + F2.
Step 3
A window will appear in which you can configure the save options. In the Bit Rate menu, you can set the bit rate and frequency. These parameters greatly affect the final file size and sound quality. The slider just below sets the ratio of quality and size of the file.
