Instructions

Step 1

First remove the bearings from the steering column, also clamp the front fork with a clamping cone.

Step 2

Change the left connecting rod of the standard carriage assembly to a connecting rod with an asterisk, connect the latter to the upper sprocket with the same number of teeth using a chain. Please note that through grooves must be cut at the ends of the shafts of the foot and hand carriage assemblies so that the connecting rods can be rotated 180 ° and reinforced with a wedge.

Step 3

Now replace the pedals on the hand cranks with bushings, install toe clips on the foot cranks that will help not only push the pedals, but also pull them up. Slide the retaining bush onto the steering bar to ensure that the chain is securely tensioned.

Step 4

The chain is disassembled like this. Put the chain on the jaws of the vise (they need to be moved apart by about 5 mm) and now, using a center punch with a diameter of 3 mm, knock out the necessary axle so that it remains in the lower outer plate, now detach the chain and add or remove links. Connect the chain links in reverse order.

Step 5

Next, make a support so that the simulator can stand steadily on the floor. You can make this option: a stand-support made of a half-inch steel pipe (about 1.5 m long) in the form of an isosceles triangle. Please note that the ends of the pipe need to be flattened and bent a little, also make holes in them corresponding to the diameter of the rear wheel axle.

Step 6

Weld a rip fence of the same material to the strut. Install the leg support, it is attached to the front fork under the crown with a bolt. Put rubber tubes on the ends of the support. To prevent the possibility of reverse rotation, remove the brake pads from the rear wheel hub.

The simulator is ready!
