Instructions
Step 1
Choose the color of the wool, beads can be monochromatic (for this you need to form them from wool of the same color) and multi-colored (you will need to mix wool of different colors). You can combine solid beads, but in different colors. For example, choose ivory and beige wool.
The fastest and easiest way to make beads is using a special ball felting device.
Step 2
Cut the wool into small pieces of the same size (it is better to immediately cut the entire tape so that the segments are the same). Divide each piece of wool into four parts and fold it in a “cross”: the first part vertically, the second part horizontally, the third part vertically, a quarter part horizontally (layers should be thin). It is important to take into account that in the process of felting, the ball will decrease 2-3 times. You should not make very large balls, they do not fit well.
Step 3
To make multi-colored beads, you need to mix wool fibers of different colors (pinch wool of different colors, put the fibers together and rub a little with your palms), then divide them into four parts and fold them in a "cross" (cut if necessary).
Form a ball, roll it in your palms so that it rests a little (it is important to make efforts so that there are no cracks in the ball).
Make the required number of balls.
Step 4
Prepare a soap solution (2 teaspoons of soap per 200 ml of hot water), dip the wool ball into the soapy solution and roll it in your palms (you have to press the ball with your palms so that the wool matted well). If there is a special device for felting balls, then put wool in it, dip the device in soapy water and shake for 2 minutes.
Dry the balls on a film under the battery for 2 days. Drying time depends on the size of the wool ball, the smaller it is, the faster it dries. You can dry the balls with a hair dryer, but this is time consuming.
Step 5
Thread the needle and thread through the center of the wool ball. Then put on the thread one or more ordinary beads, a woolen ball. Alternate between wool balls and regular beads. You can make beads from wool on a chain of "crosses" of beads, for this you need to alternate wool balls and short chains of beads (in this case, you need to thread a double thread through the balls). If the beads are with a lock, then you must first put the lock on the thread, and then pass it through the woolen ball.
Step 6
Make beads of the required length, tie the ends of the working thread into a knot. The knot should be strong, it is better to make several knots.
Step 7
Pass the ends of the thread through woolen balls and ordinary beads and carefully cut with scissors.
