Valentine's Day is originally a religious holiday, in many countries it is celebrated as Valentine's Day. Heart-shaped cards are sold at every step, but a handmade valentine is much more pleasant and romantic to give. You can make a heart out of wool in one evening, even if you don't have the skills to dry felting.
It is necessary
- - red wool
- - coarse felting needle (no. 36)
- - fine needles for felting
- - brush or sponge
- - beads, rhinestones, ribbons for decoration
- - threads for embroidery
Instructions
Step 1
If you are going to roll with a combed ribbon, use a slicker to separate the strands - this will help to confuse the wool fibers. Brush out the clouds of yarn and form into a ball.
Step 2
Roll the wool ball lightly in your hands to shape and place it on a felting brush or sponge. With a coarse needle, pierce the ball evenly over the entire area, gradually compacting the workpiece. Try to keep it round
Step 3
Do not forget to needle the sides of the workpiece. Insert the needle exactly perpendicular to the surface so as not to injure your fingers.
Step 4
While the coat is still loose, use deep needle punctures to form a depression at the top of the ball and a taper at the bottom. At this stage, it is very easy to achieve the desired heart shape.
Step 5
At some point, you may notice that there is not enough volume in some places. Then pinch off a small strand from the tape, entangle the wool in a cloud and gently weld the patch with a needle.
Step 6
Take thinner needles (eg # 40) and sand the entire surface. Take your time and do not stick the needle deeper than 3 notches. Finishing is a painstaking task, but the more carefully you do this, the smoother and more velvety the heart will be.
Step 7
Use beads, rhinestones, ribbons to decorate your Valentine. An embroidered name or a declaration of love looks beautiful on the heart.
Step 8
Any toy can be turned into a romantic gift by sewing a handmade felt heart to it.
