The clutch is the perfect accessory to almost any outfit. A laconic leather envelope of calm colors will look appropriate with a business suit, with an evening dress - something bright or even in sequins. And the best part is that any fashionista can, if desired, make a clutch with her own hands and become the happy owner of a completely exclusive handmade bag.

It is necessary

  • Half a meter of any fabric
  • Half a meter of blending lining material
  • Button
  • Cardboard
  • a piece of chalk
  • Sewing machine

Instructions

Step 1

To make a clutch, first of all, decide on its size (for the specified supply of fabric, this is about 15 by 20 cm).

Step 2

Make a clutch pattern. To do this, cut a 17 x 22 cm rectangle out of cardboard.

Step 3

Place the pattern on the fabric (on the wrong side) and carefully outline it with chalk. Repeat this operation two more times. This will end up with a piece of fabric with a tower of three rectangles. Chalk the top triangle into a flap pocket (the shape should look like an unfolded envelope). Now repeat the same steps with the lining fabric.

Step 4

Place the lining fabric with the right side up. Fold it over to form a pocket and sew the edges. Do the same with the fabric that will be the outside of the clutch and turn the pocket inside out.

Step 5

Now connect the lining and the outside of the clutch. Quilt the seams. Turn out the almost finished clutch.

Step 6

It remains to make the clutch clasp. Sew a nice button to the clutch and make a hole for the button on the “flap”.
