It is necessary

  • - brush;
  • - saturated solution of potassium permanganate;
  • - acrylic paint;
  • - squirrel brush;
  • - glass contour;
  • - alcohol;
  • - gold and tin foil;
  • - a thread;
  • - scotch tape.

Instructions

Step 1

Clean the mirror from unnecessary parts. Use a regular brush to wipe the back surface to remove dirt and dust. Moisten a sponge with a saturated solution of potassium permanganate and process the wooden frame with it. This will make the natural grain of the wood more visible. If the frame lacks some elements, do not rush to change it, the right decor will add charm to such a mirror.

Step 2

Take paint in the shade you want. With a dry brush, apply the coating to the frame, your movements should be light so that the texture of the wood is visible through the paint coat. You can make a painting, in this case, all the colors should be in harmony with each other and the rest of the decor in the room. For a complex ornament, it is better to take a stencil, you can cut it out of thick paper, or buy it.

Step 3

To gild the protruding parts of the mirror frame, attach gold foil for embossing and printing to it. Thoroughly wipe the glass itself with alcohol or window cleaner to clean and degrease the surface.

Step 4

You can also make a beautiful pattern on glass. To do this, lay out the desired ornament on the mirror with a long thread, secure the ends of the cord with tape. Along the resulting marking, apply a contour on glass of a light shade, remove the thread. To erase an improperly laid out outline, use a cotton swab moistened with alcohol.

Step 5

You can draw a small pattern in the corners of the mirror. For this, acrylic paints and a squirrel brush are suitable, paint with a tool made of synthetic fibers is worse applied to glass. Rinse off unnecessary elements immediately so that the acrylic does not have time to harden. For the same reason, rinse your brush more often. Leave the mirror to dry.

Step 6

To fix the erased part of the mirror, thoroughly clean the damaged area. There should be no old coating left on the erased area. Moisten a soft cloth with alcohol and degrease the surface. There should be no dust, otherwise a colored border may appear. Press the tin foil as tightly as possible to the damaged area.
