It is necessary

  • - acetone or nail polish remover
  • - white acrylic primer
  • - acrylic paints
  • - three-layer napkins with a pattern
  • - PVA glue
  • - brushes
  • - volumetric acrylic contours

Instructions

Step 1

Using decoupage technique, you can decorate a mirror by creating a frame around its edges from a pattern of your choice. To do this, degrease the edges of a clean mirror with acetone, glass cleaner or nail polish remover. Then, using a foam sponge, apply a layer of white acrylic primer around the edges of the mirror. Let the soil dry.

Step 2

Cover the primer on top with white acrylic paint or paint of a different color, which will be combined with the paper motif of your choice, but will be a contrast to it. Apply the paint also with a foam sponge.

Step 3

Carefully cut the motifs out of a paper napkin. If you do not want the contours of the motifs to be clear, you can carefully pick the motifs with your hands. Carefully separate the third layer from the motives, on which the drawing is directly depicted.

Step 4

Dilute PVA glue a little with water. Using thinned glue, gently glue the paper motifs to the mirror where the acrylic paint has been applied. You can also glue paper motifs directly by hand. Smooth the motifs with a slightly damp cloth to prevent wrinkles and remove excess glue.

Step 5

Tint the edges with the motif with pastel acrylic paint. Take an acrylic paint that matches the color of the paper motifs, dilute it with white paint to make the color slightly darker than pastel. Using a sponge, lightly trace the outline around the motif, being careful not to go over the motif itself. To smooth out the sharp edges of the outline, take the paint of the main background and use a sponge to apply it around the edges of the tinting, muffling the sharp transitions.

Step 6

If there are empty spaces between the motifs that you would like to fill, they can be decorated with a simple pattern with pastel acrylic paint that matches the color of the paper motif or with a volumetric acrylic outline. When finished, let the paint and glue dry. Then apply a layer of acrylic varnish to the entire decorated surface and dry the product completely.
