One of the fairly common ways to make flat beaded bracelets is to weave them on a loom. This technology allows you to create spectacular-looking baubles with complex patterns. The machine for this kind of work can be made in a few minutes.
It is necessary
- - beads;
- - threads;
- - thin needles;
- - wax;
- - weaving machine;
- - pattern scheme.
Instructions
Step 1
Before starting work, make a diagram of the pattern that will decorate your bauble. The ornament can be drawn on paper in a cage, since when weaving on a loom, each bead will correspond to one cell of the pattern. On the bracelet, narrow cross-stitch patterns or knitting patterns will look good.
Step 2
If you do not have a finished machine at your disposal, make it. To do this, you need a board, the length of which should be six centimeters more than the length of the finished bracelet and strings. Drive nails into both ends of the board so that you can attach the threads to the base of your weave. The number of nails at each end of the board should be no less than the number of rows in the future bracelet.
Step 3
Pull the warp threads over the nails. There should be one more threads than the rows in the bauble. Cut off the working thread on which you will string the beads and rub it with wax. After such processing, it will become less confused.
Step 4
Thread a working thread into the needle and knot the end of the thread based on the row from which you will start weaving. If you start to weave from the next row, the width of the bauble will be the same along the entire length. If you fix the end of the working thread on one of the rows near the center, the bracelet will taper at the edges.
Step 5
Put on the working thread two beads of the background color if the bracelet contains an even number of rows. In order to start weaving a bauble tapered at the edges with an odd number of rows, you will need three beads. If you are making a rectangular bracelet of the same width, dial as many beads as there are rows of the future product.
Step 6
Place the working thread with beads on top of the warp perpendicular to its direction so that each bead falls between two threads. Pass the needle through all the beads towards you so that the working thread goes under the warp. If your bracelet has tapering edges, increase the number of beads in the second column by two. Expand the bauble until you have the number of beads corresponding to the number of rows.
Step 7
In order to get the pattern on the bracelet that you have chosen for weaving, check the diagram and type the required number of background color beads on the thread. In accordance with the scheme, add beads of the same shade with which the elements of the pattern will be typed. It is not difficult to remember the number and color of beads that need to be strung to create a geometric ornament. If you are weaving a more complex pattern, place the ruler on the chart and move it around so that you can see exactly the column you are typing.
Step 8
After finishing weaving, secure the working thread with several knots and cut the warp threads. You can wax the rest of the base, twist them into three strands and braid them.
