Materials and tools for making a snake bracelet

The snake, woven using the volumetric weaving technique, looks very impressive, and if you insert a wire inside the resulting figure, then it can be twisted in the form of a bracelet and firmly fixed on the hand. To work on the product you will need:

- beads of two shades of green (light and dark) - 50 g;

- 9 red beads for the tongue;

- 2 black beads for snake eyes;

- thin wire for beading;

- copper wire 1.5 mm thick;

- wire cutters.

Prepare a special wire for beading, measure a piece about 1.5 m long and cut with wire cutters. To weave the snake's body, select beads of at least two shades of green. This can be, for example, dark green and khaki.

Snake bracelet weaving technology

The technology of weaving a snake bracelet does not differ from other products made in volumetric technique. The beads should be strung on both ends of the wire, thereby obtaining 2 tiers. But there are also some small peculiarities in the manufacture of this product.

Start weaving the snake bracelet with the tongue. Cast on a wire 3 red beads, place them in the middle and pass one of the ends through 2 beads. Tighten the wire as tight as possible.

String 3 more red beads and pass the end through 2 beads. Pull them to the previous element, then fold both ends of the wire together and cast 3 more red beads on them. The result should be a detail that resembles a forked serpentine tongue.

After that, move on to weaving the head of the snake. On one end of the wire, cast 3 beads of dark green color, pull the other through all these beads and pull the wire. Next, string in the same way 2 beads of a lighter shade and stretch the other end of the wire through them. Continue weaving the back of the snake with dark beads and the abdomen with light green beads.

To get the shape of the snake's head, increase the number of beads in each next tier by one. Thus, in the 2nd row in the first tier, there will be 4 beads of dark green color and 3 light ones, in the upper tier of the 3rd row there will be 5 beads, and in the lower tier, respectively, 4 pieces. In the 4th row, string 6 dark and 6 light green beads on the wire.

In the fifth row, weave the snake's eyes from black beads. To do this, take beads 1-2 mm larger in diameter than beads. String on the wire 1 green bead, then a black bead, 3 green beads, 1 black and 1 more green. Pull the other end of the wire across the entire row and weave the bottom tier of 7 light green beads. Pull the other end of the wire through this entire row. Continue weaving the head, decreasing one bead in each row in reverse order. As a result, the snake's head should have an elongated, trapezoidal shape. In the last row of this part, 6 beads should remain.

Next, weave the snake's body. Collect 6 beads in the upper and lower tiers in each next row without any increments or strangleholds. Measure the length of the snake's torso by applying the bracelet to your wrist.

After that, start making the deductions to form the snake's tail. Decreases must be done gradually, reduce the number of beads in tiers by one in every fourth row. At the end of weaving, insert a thick copper wire inside the bracelet, give it the desired shape. Tack, cut off excess beading wire and hide the ponytail inside the product.
