Making beaded crafts is a very interesting hobby. Moreover, it is quite possible to make a wide variety of figures from these wonderful small beads, including a volumetric snake, which can be used as a souvenir, put on a hand in the form of a bracelet or decorate a festive table, since a snake is an excellent and unusual option instead of the traditional napkin ring.

Materials and tools for making a snake from beads

Prepare everything you need before starting work. You will need:

- beads of dark green and light green shades;

- several orange beads;

- 2 beads of gray color for the eyes of the snake;

- thin wire for beading;

- copper wire 1.5 mm thick;

- wire cutters.

Prepare the wire for beading, cut a piece about 30 cm long. If it is not enough, then just add another piece while weaving.

Volumetric snake weaving

A snake woven using the technique of volumetric weaving looks very impressive. Start with the tongue of the snake. String 3 orange beads on the wire, place them in the middle of the wire and pass one end through 2 beads. Tighten the wire.

String 3 more orange beads on one end, and in the same way as described above, pull its end through 2 beads, pull them to the finished part of the tongue, fold both ends of the wire together and string 3 beads on them. This will create a forked serpentine tongue.

Next, move on to weaving the head of the snake. On one end of the wire, cast 3 dark green beads, pull the other side through the beads and pull, then string 2 light green beads in the same way and pull the other end of the wire through them. Thus, the weaving of the back of the snake (from dark green beads) and its abdomen (from beads of a light green shade) will turn out.

In the next rows, increase the number of beads in each tier by one, that is, in the second row you get 4 dark beads and 4 light shades, in the third - 5 and 4, respectively. In the fourth row, string 6 beads of dark green and the same amount of light green on the wire.

In the next row, make the eyes of the snake. String one green bead, then a gray bead, 3 green beads, 1 gray and 1 green again. Pull the other end of the wire through them and weave the bottom tier. String 7 light-colored beads on one end of the wire and pull the other end of the wire through them. Next, make decreases in each subsequent row so that the snake's head takes on an elongated shape, in the last row of this part there should be 6 beads in the upper and lower tiers.

Move on to weaving the snake's torso. Weave without any increases and no strangleholds to the required length, stringing 6 beads each in the upper and lower tiers of the part.

When you reach the required value, start making the deductions to form the snake's tail. Do this gradually, decreasing the number of beads in every fourth row by one. When there are 2 beads left in each tier, insert a thick copper wire into the body. Thus, the finished craft can be given the desired shape. Cut off the excess wire and weave 7-8 rows straight, then cast on one dark bead, pass both ends of the wire through it, twist them and cut with wire cutters.
