The attitude to a gift largely depends on the packaging. A beautiful box, tied with a ribbon with a luxurious bow, arouses interest in the contents, and also creates a festive mood for the person to whom the gift is intended. You can tie a gift with any ribbon, but the bows will be different. Any kind of bow can be tied from a rigid packing tape, as it keeps its shape well. But you can also tie a beautiful bow from an ordinary satin ribbon, which can be bought at any haberdashery store.

- - a piece of fabric or excess tape from which you can cut thin strips.
Instructions
Step 1
If you have an urgent need to arrange a gift, and nothing but a piece of satin ribbon is at hand, you will have to confine yourself to a classic bow. It can look beautiful if you make it even, and trim the ends of the tape beautifully with curly scissors. Place the ribbon satin side up in the middle of the top of the box. Run the tape along the mid-sides of the sides and pull the ends out to the bottom. Bring the ends behind each other and pull the tape so that it fits snugly. At the bottom, you should have a cross.
Step 2
Bring the ends of the tape to the other two sides of the box, then to its top plane. Run them under the already laid tape, approximately in the middle. The ends should wrap around the tape. Tie a single or double knot.
Step 3
Bend the ends of the ribbon about 1/3 of the knot and tie a single knot again. Straighten the bow and cut the edges of the ribbon with curly scissors. If there are no curly scissors, use the usual ones, cutting off the edges with a corner or making V-shaped notches. In this case, the ends of the rigid tape can be twisted by running the scissor rings over them several times.
Step 4
If the ribbon is long, tie a double bow. Do everything in the same way as when tying a single bow, only bend the ends in two closer to the knot. Tie a knot with the folded ends, then fold the remaining pieces of tape in half again and tie another knot with them. The double bow turns out to be smaller in size, but more magnificent.
Step 5
If you have a stiff packing tape, you can tie a terry bow. Roll a piece of tape into a ring. Make a few more of these turns, placing the ring over the ring and aligning the edges of the tape. The wider the ring, the larger the bow will be.
Step 6
Squeeze the ring to form a flat layered tape. The folds do not need to be smoothed out. Cut the corners of the strip to about the middle of the short side of the strip. The incisions should be on one of the long sides.
Step 7
Spread out the ring, then squeeze it into a strip again, aligning the notches. Tie a thin ribbon, thread, or strip of fabric over the incision site. With the thumb and forefinger of one hand, grasp the resulting bow at the incisions.
Step 8
With your other hand, gently spread the rings, being careful not to break the ribbon or thread. Peel back the petals one at a time. Bend one petal up, the other down and twist them along the axis.
Step 9
Pack the box. In the same way as when tying a classic bow, put the ribbon in the middle of the upper part of the box, bring it down on the sides, make a cross in the center of the box and bring the ends up again. Tie a double knot and cut the ends short. Attach the bow to the knot with a paper clip or glue.
