Insignia have existed in the army and other organized structures since time immemorial. The first "emblems" were tattoos on the body of a warrior. Already in the Middle Ages, chevrons came into use - stripes denoting the status of the owner and his belonging to a particular service. And at all times, probably, service people were faced with the problem of stripping a chevron on a tunic.

Instructions

Step 1

Before you start patching a chevron on a jacket, you need to know that such emblems can have different shapes, differ from each other in size. The place where the chevron is attached can also be different. Today, these features are determined by the regulatory documents of departments and institutions, whose employees wear uniforms.

Step 2

So the rules for wearing insignia by employees of the internal affairs bodies are established by the corresponding orders of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and annexes thereto. The current rules have not changed for about fifteen years.

Step 3

The chevron or sleeve insignia "Russia of the Ministry of Internal Affairs", according to regulatory documents, should be placed on the left sleeve of the uniform, at a distance of 8 cm from the shoulder seam or fold to the upper point of the chevron.

Step 4

Signs of belonging to certain services and specific units are placed on the right sleeve in the center of the sleeve pocket (on winter and summer field uniforms). In other types of uniforms, such a patch is also attached to the right sleeve at a distance of 8 cm from the top seam to the top edge of the chevron.

Step 5

In addition, cadets and students of special educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have stripes depending on the course of study (the so-called "cursory"). These stripes are rectangular. Placed course stripes on the left sleeve of the form at a distance of 20 cm from the top seam of the sleeve to the top point of the "cursory".

Step 6

The technology of sewing the chevron to the sleeve itself is not very complicated, but it requires some skill. After you have measured the desired distance from the top seam of the sleeve, place the chevron in the designated place. Now, using a regular needle or pin, attach the top point of the chevron to the fabric of the sleeve. This point should be in the middle of the sleeve in terms of its width.

Step 7

Now put on the tunic and standing with the corresponding side to the mirror, position the lower edge of the chevron so that when the hand is freely lowered, the chevron is on the sleeve strictly vertically, without skewing. Use the second needle to pin the lower part of the chevron in the selected place. Now he is not going anywhere.

Step 8

Remove the jacket and carefully, with small stitches, retracted inward, sew the chevron along the contour. At the same time, try to ensure that the chevron does not form folds, but fits snugly against the sleeve. It should be remembered that the color of the thread must match the color of the patch material.
