Altai is one of the most picturesque places in our country. It is not surprising that mountain air, pristine wild landscapes and crystal spring water attract tourists from all over Russia and abroad.
The first ethnographic festival "Children of the Sun" will be held from 9 to 15 August near the village of Chendek in the Ust-Koksinsky region of the Altai Republic. The festival will be located on the territory of the Zvenigorod eco-camp in the very heart of the Uimonskaya Valley. This is an amazing place: a valley rich in vegetation is surrounded by mountains with snow-capped peaks, and the sun shines here 340 days a year!
Children of the Sun is a holiday for the whole family, where there are activities for adults and teenagers, and even for little ones. The indigenous Altaians, representatives of the ancient culture, who will acquaint guests with their history, way of life, as well as demonstrate ritual songs and dances, also take part in the festival.
The festival "Children of the Sun" is multidirectional, one of the directions is sports: various competitions will be held, for example, horse riding competitions on Altai horses, a demonstration of martial arts. Those who wish can learn fitness dances, cheer up in the morning at a hatha yoga class, learn the basics of qigong.
The creative direction is realized in the abundance of master classes. At the festival, one can learn throat singing, weaving mandalas, drawing on fabric and stones, modeling clay products and much more.
Altai herbalists will talk about which local plants have medicinal properties, give individual consultations, and also teach you how to brew tea and use herbs to improve health.
At the fair, you will be able to buy products of local craftsmen, souvenirs, stones, amulets, as well as buy herbal preparations, high-mountain honey, local dairy products and vegetables.
There is a special zone for children at the festival - "Country of Childhood", where, under the supervision of animators, they will perform mini-performances, participate in sports events, as well as attend children's master classes in drawing, modeling and weaving.

Children under 7 years old attend the festival for free, children from 8 to 13 years old receive a 50% discount, a ticket for teenagers over 14 years old is equal to the amount of an adult ticket.
It is completely free to watch musical performances, visit the fair and open-air cinema, but for a comfortable and full-fledged rest at the festival, it is still advised to purchase a complex ticket.
Regular transfers are organized directly to the location of the festival. From the bus station of Barnaul every day from 9 to 15 August at 16:15 a bus will leave for the festival participants, this bus will pass through Biysk and Gorno-Altaysk, seats must be booked in advance. You can get to Biysk from Novosibirsk by regular bus and train, and to Gorno-Altaysk - by bus or even by plane. In addition, buses are organized from the village. Ust-Koksa, from where absolutely all festival participants are taken, who do not travel by personal transport, a seat on this bus is assigned to the participant after paying for the voucher.
