At different times, glass beads of different colors and sizes served as talismans and amulets. They were used as money and jewelry. There were times when a slave could be bought for a string of beads. Today, beaded jewelry is still highly valued as a delicate handicraft, although beadwork has lost its practical and applied focus.
It is necessary
- - beads;
- - a thin needle with a gilded eye;
- - spool with lavsan threads.
Instructions
Step 1
Several basic types of weaving are used in beadwork: mosaic, cross, openwork mosaic, all kinds of plaits. By varying the number and color of beads, the master achieves a special pattern and relief. Over time, you will learn how to select shapes, sizes and shades, but it is better to start learning with plain products.
Step 2
Beads for weaving should be of high quality, grain to grain, at first the same color. Beads of different sizes deform the product, its width will “walk”, folds and concavities will appear. Give preference to Czech and Japanese beads. The needle should freely pass through the hole in the bead several times, while also pulling the thread behind it. And of the threads, nylon is the least successful option - the fibers will constantly unwind, you will not be able to insert the thread into the needle. By the way, for the convenience of work, use the needle threader.
Step 3
The pattern of weaving "mosaic" is similar to brickwork or honeycomb. The product in this technique is dense, even in width. Cut the thread 50-60 cm long, insert it into the needle. Thread the first bead. Extend it to a point 10-15 cm from the edge and go through it again to secure. You use the end of the thread that was left to secure the clasp.
Step 4
Put on eight more beads. For convenience, number them from the first (already fixed) to the ninth. Pass through the seventh bead in the opposite direction, so that the eighth and ninth are like a loop. Tighten the thread so that it is not visible between the beads. Put on another bead and go through the fifth in the same direction. Then, taking on one bead, go through the third and first beads. Turn the product, put on another bead and string the row again in the intervals between the previously dialed ones. Weave the garment up to the width of the wrist. If you run out of thread, cut another piece and tie with a weaving knot. At the end of the work, fasten the fastener with the ends of the threads, then hide the thread in the rows of the product, cut off the excess.
