When creating an audio track from separate fragments, it is often necessary to change the tempo of the audio segment while maintaining or changing the key. This task can be dealt with using the Adobe Audition program.
It is necessary
- - sound file;
- - Adobe Audition program.
Instructions
Step 1
Load the sound you want to process into Adobe Audition using the Open option found on the File menu.
Step 2
Use the Stretch filter to change the tempo of the music. The settings window for this filter is opened with the Stretch option from the Time / Pitch group located in the Effects menu. If you need the same tempo change for the entire piece of music, click on the Constant Stretch tab.
Step 3
To ensure that the key does not change when changing the tempo, select the Time Stretch item in the Stretch Mode field. To change the tempo, adjust the Stretch parameter using the slider. Move the slider to the left to increase the tempo, and to the right to slow it down. If you set the parameter to a value of one hundred percent, the tempo will remain unchanged.
Step 4
Instead of changing the Stretch parameter, you can change the Ratio parameter by entering a new value from the keyboard. To increase the pace, the Ratio value should be less than one hundred, for deceleration - more.
Step 5
If you are guided by the length of the final file when increasing the tempo, you can enter the required duration in seconds in the Length field.
Step 6
If, when changing the tempo, you need to change the key of the sound, select the Resample item in the Stretch Mode field and adjust the tempo of the piece of music using the Stretch, Ratio or Length parameters. To change the key, select a value from the Transpose drop-down list. As you might guess, values with a sharp next to them raise the key by the specified number of semitones. Flat values will lower the pitch.
Step 7
The Stretch filter allows you to smoothly change the tempo of a piece of music. You can configure such a change on the Gliding Stretch tab by specifying the values of the Stretch, Ratio, Length and, if necessary, Transpose parameters for the beginning and end of the musical segment.
Step 8
You can evaluate the result of applying the settings by clicking on the Preview button. Change the settings if necessary. If you got the result you wanted, click on the OK button.
Step 9
Save the modified file with the Save As or Save Copy As command from the File menu.
