For various events, dance performances, theatrical performances, presentations and audio editing, one or another musical composition is required, but not entirely, but only partially. You can cut the desired fragment from the song or shorten it to the desired length without outside help if you learn how to do it in the GoldWave sound editing program, which provides many options for changing and modifying sound tracks.
Instructions
Step 1
Open the desired song in the program. If the song is on a CD, insert the disc into the drive and in an open program, select CD Grabber from the Tools menu. In the window that appears, select the desired track and save it in the appropriate quality and format.
Step 2
When you open a track in GoldWave, you will see the frequency soundtracks. You can listen to any part of the recording by placing the cursor on the desired place in the track, highlighting the fragment and clicking "Play from here".
Step 3
Select the fragment that you want to cut, or which, on the contrary, you want to keep, deleting everything else.
Step 4
Determine the boundaries of the unnecessary fragment - place the cursor at its starting point, press the right mouse button and click "Set start of selection". If you want to delete half of the track, from the middle to the end, you can only set the starting point.
Step 5
If you need to extract a piece from the middle of the track, find the second border and set the end of the selection with the right mouse button. You will see that all areas of the track that remain after deletion are highlighted in dark color, and the fragment to be deleted is highlighted in light. Click on the scissors icon to remove the fragment. After that, you will see a line where the two parts of the track meet, in which the deleted part of the composition used to be.
Step 6
Adjust volume and music effects. To do this, in the Effects menu, find the Volume section and select the desired parameter to adjust - attenuation, fade in, and so on. Adjust the parameters with the + and - keys, and if necessary, set a fragment of silence in the track, indicating its duration (Edit - insert silence) and then save the track under a new name in MP3 format.
Step 7
In addition to deleting, you can apply the copy function to the fragments of the songs - in the same way set the boundaries of the beginning and end of the fragment, copy it and paste it to the desired place in the same track, or in another song. With the help of the "Merge Files" section, you can also merge two songs into one track.
