It is necessary

  • laser level
  • flooring mix
  • drywall guides
  • the rule

Instructions

Step 1

Remove the old covering and clean the floor from debris and dirt. Determine the misalignment of the floor using a level. If the skew is insignificant, then it is not at all necessary to align the entire space. You can determine the skew by eye, but this is a much less accurate way.

Determine the highest point in the entire floor space and place the laser level on it. The level can be bought at any hardware store. Turn on the level. He will draw a red line along the entire perimeter of the room. Mark it clearly with chalk or pencil.

Step 2

Buy drywall guides. Place them around the entire perimeter of the floor so that their level coincides with the level of the marked alignment line. In order to check the coincidence, place a board on the guides: its end should coincide with the line on the wall. Align the guides using any piece of wood material, and after aligning, attach the guides to the floor. This is best done with self-tapping screws.

Step 3

Make a construction mix of sand and cement. Pour it onto the floor so that it covers the entire perimeter of the floor in an even layer and is flush with the guides. Flatten the mixture using a rule. This procedure is called floor screed. The most important thing here is to level the mixture as thoroughly as possible, wait until the mixture dries and hardens, and then apply a new coating.
