Seashells are an excellent material for design, with their help you can create original and interesting things. The shells will add a marine flavor, remind you of a hot summer, and create a holiday mood.
It is necessary
- - shells;
- - glue gun or "cold welding";
- - drill or needle;
- - acrylic paints or varnish;
- - complementary elements.
Instructions
Step 1
Get your shell tools ready. You will need a clear glue gun, cold seal glue. To make a hole in the shell, use a very thin drill or needle - just twist it gently in place. You can also rub the shell against sandpaper or a file, which will gradually wear off. Use acrylic paints or varnish to paint the shells.
Step 2
Try to combine shells correctly with other interior items. Since the shells are quite original in shape, they will go well with smooth objects such as glass, mirrored or porcelain.
Step 3
In addition to shells, it is advisable to use other natural objects in crafts - stones, flowers, wooden elements, pearl-like beads, dried starfish, etc. Also, find small items to create the theme you need: ship souvenirs and glass beads for a nautical style, jewelry boxes and old photographs for vintage, artificial flowers and elegant frames for romantic.
Step 4
Shells work well with light and glass, so try to place them next to a lamp or candle. Candlesticks can be made from cocktail glasses - just fill them with shells and put candles inside. Or cover the candlestick with shells and other elements on the outside.
Step 5
A large shell can be used as a flower vase or candlestick. Glue it to the base so that it stands firmly, put flowers or a candle inside. Try to make a beautiful composition in the form of a tree from branches or corals - just glue shells on them in random order.
Step 6
In a light interior, mirrors or photo frames framed by shells look great. In this case, it is necessary to use additional elements - colored glass beads, ship motifs (hemp ropes, steering wheels, anchors), images of fish or sea animals, or any other decorative items. You should not stick shells in a row, in one heap - try to imitate the natural arrangement, combining elements in size and color.
