Collecting shells on the seashore is a favorite pastime of children. And at the end of the rest, these "trophies" lie in some distant closet. You can decorate a frame for a photo with shells or make a panel out of them that will decorate your house and remind you of a happy vacation.

It is necessary

  • - flat board, chipboard or plywood;
  • - shells;
  • - PVA glue;
  • - sandpaper;
  • - jigsaw;
  • - stain.

Instructions

Step 1

Sketch a panel of shells. You don't have to draw by hand, you can find a suitable digital image or scan a postcard. Outline the image in Adobe Photoshop. When choosing a drawing, pay attention to the fact that there should be as few small details on it as possible, because the shells themselves are a very beautiful material. In addition, they have their own specific texture, which must be taken into account when drawing up a sketch. Print the image resizing beforehand.

Step 2

Prepare the base. Get a board or plywood that is thick enough. For example, a wooden cutting board works well. The hole for the stud can be removed by gluing in a wooden cork. Sand a regular board so that the surface is flat. If the shells remain light, it is best to darken the background for contrast. To do this, use a dark stain color. If necessary, the stain can be replaced with a dark solution of potassium permanganate, which gives shades from deep red-brown to light brown.

Step 3

Apply the design to the board. For this it is worth using carbon paper. You can skip the sketching stage by trying to immediately compose the composition on the board.

Step 4

If the shells need to be painted, do so before gluing them to the board. You can use bright acrylic paints to paint seashells. Choose the color depending on the nature of the image.
