Any knitting begins with a set of loops, you can't get away from this. This is the basis of any yarn product. In order to learn how to cast on loops, you will need two knitting needles and a ball of yarn for knitting.
Instructions
Step 1
Fold both knitting needles together, imagine holding one thick knitting needle. This is such a little trick of knitters. Loops are collected on two knitting needles, and after dialing one is pulled out. Thus, the loops do not tighten, and they are free enough, which simplifies knitting of subsequent rows.
Step 2
Unwind the thread from the ball from which you will be picking up the loops. With an average thickness of the yarn, 1 - 1, 5 cm of yarn goes to a set of one loop. If you need 30 loops, then 1.5 * 30 = 45 cm. It turns out that for a set of 30 loops you need a 45 cm thread.
Step 3
Unwind the thread as long as you need. Place the thread between your thumb and forefinger. Hold the thread with the three remaining fingers of your left hand. Make sure the thread is taut.
Step 4
Take the knitting needles, think that you have one knitting needle in your hands. Insert the needles under the thread that is stretched between your thumb and forefinger. Hold the thread with the index finger of your right hand, press it against the needles.
Step 5
Hook up the inner thread that runs near your thumb.
Step 6
Pull out the loop you grabbed from the thumb. Grab another loop in the same way, but this time from the thread that runs along the index finger.
Step 7
Tighten the extended hinges. Free your thumb from the thread. Do not tighten the loops too much, otherwise it will be very difficult to knit the first row of such "tightened" loops.
Step 8
According to these instructions, dial as many loops as you need. The tail of the remaining thread should not be cut off, because it may come in handy when you start sewing the details of the product.
Step 9
Once you are done tying on the stitches, carefully remove one knitting needle. Many people recommend tying a knot from the rest of the thread and the main thread after the loop is set so that the last loops are strong and not unraveled. The loops are dialed. Start your knitting.
