A set of air loops is typical for products, the edges of which should not be tight. If you intend to knit a hat, shawl, socks or sweater, use the "air" method of a set of loops.
Instructions
Take a skein and one knitting needle in your right hand. Pass the working thread between the ring and middle fingers of your left hand so that the middle finger of your left hand stops the working thread. Fix the end of the thread in your right hand, having previously measured the required length. If you intend to sew a piece, it makes sense to leave a long thread. If you didn't plan it, measure out a small amount.
Place the loop over your left thumb in a clockwise motion. Pay particular attention to keeping the working thread under the other end of the thread. If they are incorrectly positioned at the first stage, you will not be able to dial the first loop, which is the basis of the entire set (when using any technique of a set of loops).
Remove the loop from the thumb to the knitting needle. To do this, slide the knitting needle along the thumb (under the working thread) and, grasping the thread, remove the loop.
Cast on the number of loops you need. To do this, repeat the above steps as many times as you need to type in loops to knit your product.
