In sewing, several types of collars are used, which have their own characteristics of stitching into the neck, but they all have approximately the same sewing technology based on a turn-down collar and a shirt with a cut-off stand.
It is necessary
- - collar details;
- - product;
- - threads to match the fabric and in a contrasting color for basting;
- - a needle;
- - sewing machine;
- - iron.
Instructions
Step 1
To sew in a shirt collar with a cut-off stand into the neck, first fold the upper and lower parts together with the right sides inward. Trim the edges and sweep the cutoffs and ends, that is, short cuts and the outside of the collar, leaving the inside unsewn.
Step 2
Trim seam allowances, cut off excess fabric in the corners. Turn out the collar, carefully straighten all the seams, sweep clean and iron. At the same stage, you can lay a decorative stitch along its edges. Mark the middle of the collar with a few stitches with a contrasting thread.
Step 3
Also fold the rack parts with the right sides inward. Mark out the middle. Insert the collar between the parts of the stand so that the middle marks on the collar and the stand coincide, and the lower cut of the collar - with the upper cut of the stand. Pin it all with pins and grind off the stance sections, while stitching in the collar as well. Adjust the seam allowance. In places where the part is rounded, make small cuts.
Step 4
Turn the stand to the front side. Correct and iron the seams. Attach one side of the stand to the cutout of the neck, right sides to each other, stitch in on a sewing machine. Cut the allowance and press it towards the rack.
Step 5
Fold the cut of the inner side of the part once and stitch the fold exactly into the stitching seam. Iron the detail thoroughly. Remove all the basting. Stitch the stand along all the cuts at a distance of 1-2 mm from the edge.
Step 6
Fold the top and bottom of the turn-down collar together with the right sides inward. Trim the edges and sweep the cutoffs and ends, that is, short cuts and the outside of the collar, leaving the inside unsewn. Trim seam allowances, cut off excess fabric in the corners. Turn out the collar, carefully straighten all the seams, sweep clean and iron.
Step 7
Align the mark on the middle of the collar and back and baste one side of it, sew on the sewing machine, placing the line next to the basting. Fold the cut of the upper part of the collar and stitch the fold into the stitching seam. You can now sew a finishing stitch around the edges of the collar.
Step 8
Also, a turn-down collar can be sewn into the neckline and using a facing. To do this, prepare the details of the turn-down collar as described above. Attach both parts of it to the neckline, then place the facing on the collar with the right side and align all 4 cuts. Stitch everything together, bend the facing to the wrong side of the product, press it on.
Step 9
Fold the cut 1 time and stitch. To make the neck look as neat as possible, you do not need to attach the facing, but process its cut on an overlock and sew in several places with blind stitches.
