A nondescript stool can be updated and embellished very easily! Change the cover, make new upholstery and thus turn the old "wreck" into "new" exquisite furniture.
It is necessary
- Stool
- Upholstery fabric
- Foam rubber
- Studs or furniture stapler
- A hammer
- Scissors
- Sewing machine
Instructions
Step 1
First, we measure the diameter of the seat. We draw a circle of the same size on the upholstery fabric, plus 1 cm for the seams. Cut out. Draw the same circle and cut it out of foam rubber.
Step 2
We place the foam rubber on the chair. We measure the thickness of the seat together with the foam rubber. Cut out a side strip from the upholstery fabric equal to the thickness of the seat plus 2 cm for the seams plus 1 cm for the hem.
Step 3
Sew the fabric circle and side strip together. You can insert a steering wheel between them. We stretch the resulting cover well on the stool and nail it down with nails or attach it with a furniture stapler.
Step 4
If the wooden legs of the stool have lost their appearance, then they need to be sanded with sandpaper and covered first with paint and then with varnish.
