For stools, flat, sometimes quilted, pillows with ties are most often sewn. If the style of room decoration allows, they can be decorated with frills or applique. In the kitchen, pillows made from the same fabric as mittens, potholders or curtains look good.

Instructions
Step 1
Start by preparing a pattern. It can be cut from newspaper to fit the seat of the stool for which the pillow is intended. Place the pattern on the stool and mark the places where the strings will be attached to the pillow.
Step 2
Cut two pieces out of the fabric according to the prepared pattern, adding one and a half centimeters on each side as seam allowances. For the strings, cut four pieces fifty to sixty centimeters long and eight centimeters wide. Add seam allowances on both long sides of each tie.
Step 3
Reduce the pattern on each side by half a centimeter. Using this modified sample, cut out a piece of padding polyester that will serve as a padding. Usually, for pillows, a synthetic winterizer with a density of three hundred grams per square centimeter is used. If you have material with a density of one to two hundred grams per square centimeter, cut two pieces out of it. Allowances for seams when cutting a padding polyester do not need to be left.
Step 4
Fold strings in half widthwise, wrong side out, baste and stitch along length and one of narrow sides. Leave the second narrow edge to be able to unscrew the tie.
Step 5
Remove the basting and turn the ties right side out. Tuck in the edge you didn't sewn in, sew the fabric by hand, and iron the finished pieces.
Step 6
Baste the padding polyester parts to the seamy sides of the fabric parts. Fold the ties in half lengthwise. Baste them to the front of the bottom part of the pillow so that the ends of the strings are directed to the center of the part, and their middle falls under the stitching.
Step 7
Sweep the fabric parts of the pillow right sides inward and sew, leaving about twenty centimeters on either side to turn the pillow inside out. Remove the basting without touching the seams with which the synthetic winterizer is baked to the fabric.
Step 8
Turn the nearly finished pillow right-side up. Fold in the seam allowances on the side you haven't sewn all the way in, and sew the edges of the fabric. Step back four to five centimeters from the edge of the pillow and pass a basting seam through both layers of fabric and padding polyester. Sew along this line or sew by hand. You can then remove any remaining basting.
