- - upholstery fabric
- -porolon
- - upholstery carnations
- -glue for fabric
- -scissors
- -a hammer
Instructions
Step 1
Antique chairs and stools often have beautiful wood finishes, which, of course, cannot be covered with material. When removing old upholstery, you need to pay attention to how it is fixed.
Step 2
So, we cut out the padding layer from the foam rubber to the size of the seat. We put it on a stool.
Step 3
Then, the fabric cut to the size of the stool plus 3 cm for the hem is laid out on foam rubber. We bend it down and if the stool is rectangular, then first we fix the fabric with nails along the long sides, and then along the short ones. We stretch the material well from all sides so that it does not wrinkle anywhere and the surface is smooth.
Step 4
So that the fabric at the corners of the stool does not puff up and looks neat, the corners of the fabric need to be cut, bend the excess and nail it down.
Step 5
Now the carnations need to be closed with tape. We take the braid and begin to glue from the center of one of the sides of the stool. Lubricate with glue and press against the stool. Bend the end of the braid and glue it. You can secure the tape with pins until the glue is completely dry.
