The idea of holding a festival of street theaters and carnival culture came from the organization "Mosgorpark" and the Moscow Department of Culture. The competition for this large-scale event was won by Sounds good.

The last time a similar festival was held in Moscow was in 2001 as part of the Theater Olympiad under the direction of Vyacheslav Polunin.

And now, 10 years later, a new marathon of street performances "Once Upon a Time in the Park" began. For the festival, the organizers have chosen three metropolitan parks: "Kuzminki", Gorky and Garden. Bauman.

The festival started on August 10 in the Bauman Garden. In this cozy place, artistic and intellectual programs were held, mostly aimed at young people. In "Kuzminki" family performances were shown with the participation of the St. Petersburg group "Semianoki", which at one time separated from the "Litsedeevs", and the performances of the artists in Gorky Park became a kind of quintessence and the culmination of the entire festival, which ended on August 12 with the musical performance "The Heart of an Angel" a special guest - the Belgian theater TOL. The artists literally floated under the sky of Gorky Park.

In total, more than 100 artists of various genres took part in the Moscow Festival of Street Theaters. Among them are the theatrical collective from Italy Cantiere Ikrea (a typical street theater del arte) and Teatro Pavana from Venice with a traditional carnival procession.

Everyone could visit the festival. It took place in the open areas of three metropolitan parks. All shows were free. According to the organizers, the festival is intended to acquaint Muscovites and guests of the capital with the street theater genre, which is very popular all over the world.

The festival is supposed to become an annual event. Every summer, one weekend, everyone can witness unusual street shows. You just need to follow the poster of the capital's events.
