Technological progress is moving by leaps and bounds, and more and more gamers have to update their PC to keep up with the demands of games. However, if the game freezes, do not rush to the store - there are several simple ways to fix this.
Instructions
Step 1
Lower graphic settings. Do not overestimate the capabilities of your car and set maximum detail in some Battlefield 3 with a GeForce 8800 video card. > Settings-> Video Settings ".
Step 2
Disable (reduce) shadows and reflections. The greatest load on the computer is given by everything connected with light. Glare and shadows can take up from 30 to 50% of the total video load in various games. Of course, the picture will immediately lose its gloss and realism, so before acting so radically, use other methods.
Step 3
Experiment with your screen resolution. Even if your monitor is rated for 1600x1200, it will still work in any mode, even 640x480. By changing the resolution to such a low one, you will make the processor handle almost three times less load, and the smoothness will immediately jump by 2-3 points. However, the picture will become much larger, and quite visible pixels (the squares that make up the image) will also appear. Not so scary, but sometimes annoying.
Step 4
If the graphical settings don't help, try freeing up some space on your hard drive. Having received new amounts of memory for use, the OS will be able to store intermediate data there, thereby increasing the exchange buffer. In addition, after defragmenting (ordering), you sort of decompose the remaining information into shelves so that the processor can access it more quickly. You will not only overclock the game, but increase the speed of the entire computer.
Step 5
Change the priority via the task manager. This is done as follows: in the game, press Alt + tab, which will throw you to the desktop. After that, call the task manager (Ctrl + Alt + delete), select the game in the window that appears and click "go to the process". When you get to the next screen near the highlighted process, click "change priority" and ignore the warnings.
Step 6
Check the forums for an explanation of exactly how to overclock a particular game. The above methods are the most general, while a particular approach can be found for each program. For example, you can increase the performance of "Left for Dead 2" by 70% by downloading the German version of the game. The difference from the world one is that the censorship banned excessive violence, and the "cut down" version, without dismemberment, got on sale. The loss, of course, is impressive, but it will not affect the gameplay.
