Anastasia Volochkova is now a mega-popular figure in Russian show business. And although the star practically does not perform, she constantly attracts attention with various actions, which many can call extraordinary.
Anastasia Volochkova was born into a very athletic family. My father was an international master of sports, the USSR champion in table tennis, my mother worked as an engineer, was fond of the history of her city, so she conducted excursions around St. Petersburg.
Since childhood, Anastasia's parents instilled in her a love of art, sports, developed diligence, dedication, and the will to win. And when the girl expressed her desire to become a ballerina, they decided to provide all kinds of support to her daughter.
In 1992, Volochkova entered the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet, which was located in St. Petersburg. The entrance exams turned out to be very difficult for the future ballerina, the jury did not want to admit that the girl had potential. Only the choreographer Sergeev discerned a talent for dancing in the young girl.
Carier start
Anastasia worked very hard, despite all the negativity that came from the teachers. And her labors were rewarded. The famous teacher Natalia Mikhailovna Dudinskaya saw a promising ballerina in the girl. That is why at the final exam she entrusted Volochkova to dance the main part of Odette and Odile in the ballet Swan Lake. It was this debut on the stage of the Mariinsky Theater that marked the beginning of the deafening career of the ballerina.
Volochkova worked at the Mariinsky Theater for 4 years. She danced many leading roles in the theater. These years, according to the ballerina, were very difficult, because colleagues were unfriendly to Anastasia and constantly plotted intrigues against her. As a result, all the parties were taken away from Volochkova, so she had to leave the theater and look for a new place.
In 1998, the ballerina was invited to the Bolshoi Theater, where she performed the main role in the author's production of Swan Lake. At the same time, Volochkova decided to pursue a solo career. She took part in the Austrian Golden Lion competition, where she won first place in 2000. It was Anastasia who was named the best European ballerina.
Solo career
In 2002 Anastasia Volochkova received the title of "Honored Artist of Russia". Despite all the titles and victories, scandals and intrigues constantly arise around the ballerina at the Bolshoi Theater. As a result, the management of the theater makes a verdict that Volochkova should leave the troupe due to her lack of professionalism. Complaints were about the dancer's height and weight, which exceeded the parameters acceptable for ballerinas.
After the scandalous dismissal from the Bolshoi Theater, Volochkova actively began to promote herself. She made her film debut, wrote and published an autobiography, even sang a song at Pugacheva's evening. Anastasia takes an active part in charity work, creates the "Anastasia Volochkova Creative Center".
Now Volochkova is the most famous ballerina, although she rarely performs.
