Step 1
Take a landscape sheet and arrange it horizontally. Prepare a soft and hard pencil, an eraser. Keep in mind that there are many breeds of dogs, so determine for yourself the animal that you want to draw.
Step 2
Draw two circles with different diameters. The figures are the bases for the chest and back of the animal. The back should be smaller than the chest.
Step 3
Above the ribcage, draw a smaller circle and an oval next to it. Connect all the circles with smooth lines. As a result, you should have a base for the drawing. From the chest and back, draw 4 broken lines in three places. To make it easier to depict the paws, artists who want to draw a dog in pencil step by step are advised to look at photographs of animals.
Step 4
Sharpen the outline. Draw the dog's face and ears. Draw the eyes depending on the character and mood of the animal. They are usually round in shape. The entire mood of the picture will depend on the degree of dilation of the pupil, glare and the shape of the eyebrows.
Step 5
Draw the dog's paws. These animals usually have strong and muscular legs. Draw a triangle at the ends with rounded corners. Draw 3 lines at the base. Add some bold short lines (claws).
Step 6
Erase the guide lines and shapes, work on the details. Draw the dog's fur by making short serifs along the outline of the drawing. Add shadows and backgrounds (asphalt, grass, wood floor, etc.).
