"Braids" are one of the most popular knitting patterns. Usually they are knitted with an auxiliary knitting needle. There is another way to knit a volumetric "braid". The method is simple, but very unusual. Its advantage is that you do not need to cross the loops and do not need an additional knitting needle.
It is necessary
A pair of knitting needles, yarn
Instructions
Step 1
For the sample, you need to dial 47 loops (two edging loops, 15 loops for the "braid", 16 loops each on both sides of the "braid" for the background).
Step 2
1 row: one edge loop, 15 front loops, 15 purl loops, 16 front loops.
2nd row: one edge loop, 15 purl loops, 15 front loops, 16 purl loops.
3, 5, 7 row knit the same way as the first. 4, 6, 8 row knit as row 2. In total, knit 8 rows.
Step 3
In row 9, you need to close the central loops. The row is knitted like this: one edge, 15 front loops, 15 "braid" loops to close. Knit the last stitch of the "braid" with 16 stitches (the first stitch of the background on the left side) together with the front stitch, knit the row to the end with the stitches.
Step 4
In row 10, you need to dial additional loops. The row is knitted like this: one hem, 15 purl loops, cast on 15 loops, 16 purl loops.
Step 5
A hole is created in the canvas, which resembles a large slot for a button.
Step 6
Repeat step 2.
Step 7
It turns out a canvas with jumpers in the central part. A "braid" is formed from these bridges. There are seven jumpers in the sample (7 braid links).
Step 8
We form a loop from the lower jumper, pull the second jumper through it. Through the loop from the second jumper, you need to stretch the third jumper, etc.
Step 9
The "braid" can be woven against the backdrop of purl loops.
Step 10
On a contrasting background, the "braid" looks better.
Step 11
To make the edge of the canvas even, you need to pick loops from the last link of the "braid" and knit several rows.
