Lush pom-poms are a great decoration for a winter hat or scarf, and you can also decorate a handbag, home plaid or children's clothes with pom-poms. Making a pompom is not difficult at all - you need scissors, yarn and a sheet of thick cardboard for this. You can make a pom-pom even if you have never been involved in sewing or knitting and it will take you no more than half an hour to make this decorative element.

Instructions

Step 1

Take a piece of cardboard and cut out two identical circles of the desired diameter from it - the larger you want to make the bubo, the larger the diameter of the circles should be. In order to make the circles neat, first draw them on the cardboard with a compass, and then inside each circle draw another small circle for threading.

Step 2

Cut out both circles, then cut a small circle in each one and fold the blanks together. Thread the end of the thread into the hole inside the workpiece and fix it by tying the thread around the circle. Now start winding the yarn by threading the yarn through the hole and winding it around the workpiece around the entire perimeter.

Step 3

Try to fill the entire diameter of the circle with threads - after making the first layer of winding, continue winding the yarn so that the layer of thread is thick. The more yarn you wind around the workpiece, the more magnificent and beautiful the bubo will be.

Step 4

Finally, when you are finished winding the yarn around the cardboard mold, take a sharp pair of scissors and cut the yarn along the outline, inserting the scissors between the two cardboard circles. Hold the threads with your hands so that the cut pompom does not fall apart.

Step 5

Cut a small thread from the skein of yarn and, pushing the circles with the cut threads apart, tie the future pompom in the middle. Tighten the knot firmly and tie it twice to secure it.

Step 6

Remove the pom-pom from the cardboard circles, then fluff it up and carefully trim it with scissors, creating a ball-like shape and cutting off any excess threads. The pompom is ready.
