It is necessary

  • - a simple white plate;
  • - one-step craquelure varnish;
  • - acrylic paints;
  • - brushes;
  • - sponge;
  • - postcard;
  • - nail scissors;
  • - ready-made hook or plate holder.

Instructions

Step 1

Degrease the plate. Wash it under the tap with your regular dishwashing liquid and let dry completely. Water droplets should not remain on the surface to be decorated.

Step 2

Find a beautiful postcard with a pattern that suits you. Think about how it will be located on the surface of the plate.

Step 3

Paint the front of the card with acrylic varnish. Apply the initial layer very carefully. Make the first stroke to the side of the main drawing. Water-based acrylic varnish, so printing ink can float. After applying the varnish coat, let the surface dry completely. It won't take long. Acrylic dries very quickly. Spread the picture with five more coats of varnish, drying each thoroughly.

Step 4

Pour lukewarm water into a wide bowl. Submerge the card completely in a bowl and hold for 10 minutes. During this time, touch the edge of the card with your fingers, watch for soaking so that the paper does not completely creep. You want the top color layer of varnish to easily come off the base paper.

Step 5

Remove the prepared postcard from the bowl. Cut out the desired pattern with nail scissors and, pulling it by the corner, separate it from the rest of the paper layers.

Step 6

Apply clear acrylic varnish to the surface of the plate where the drawing will be. Attach the picture so that it sticks. Spread the loose edges with a brush dipped in varnish.

Step 7

Make the background on a picture-free space on the plate. Dip the sponge into acrylic paint and apply to white areas. Gently blotting the edges of the picture, you will organically bring it into the overall decorative design of the plate.

Step 8

Sponge or brush one-step crackle lacquer onto acrylic paint. When the varnish is slightly dry, but still sticky, paint the plate with another acrylic paint, which is very different from the color of the base. When dry, the top paint will crack, and the bottom layer will show through. Use acrylics of different tones to contrast sharper. If the paint cracks in a dark color, then the base can be made with silver or golden acrylic paint.

Step 9

Dry your product. The plate can be hung on the wall or placed in a special stand. These tools are available at craft stores.
