Learning to knit mittens and gloves is recommended for any novice needlewoman. Each family member will need these items of clothing, regardless of gender and age. Experimenting with embossed or multi-colored jacquard patterns, with embroidery on knitted fabric, you can create products in any style. At the same time, children's things will "grow" together with their owner - for this it is enough to dissolve the top of the mitten and tie it to the desired size.

It is necessary

  • - 5 stocking needles
  • - Auxiliary (or thin) woolen thread
  • - Base yarn
  • - 2-3 pins

Instructions

Step 1

Start knitting mittens on five needles in circular rows. To do this, cast an equal number of loops on 4 knitting needles. Make an elastic band 2x2 5-7 cm high. To make it thinner than the palm of your hand, use an auxiliary thread or a yarn thinner than the main one.

Step 2

After tying the elastic, remove the auxiliary thread (or start further knitting the mitten with thick yarn). It is necessary to evenly increase the number of loops in the first circular row of hosiery - a loop is added on each knitting needle.

Step 3

Knit a mitten until you reach the base of your thumb. Then remove a few loops on the pin. To measure the thickness of a finger, you need to know the knitting density (how many loops in a centimeter). Multiply the number of loops removed by 2 and add 3 more on the sides.

Step 4

Knit mittens until the tip of the little finger. Next, knit the first pair of loops on needle # 1 for the back lobes, and on needle # 2, knit the last two loops together for the front lobes. Turn the work over and do everything in the same order. You will have a toe and the last 4 loops - string them on a thread, tighten tightly and tuck the “tail” on the wrong side of the product.

Step 5

Do the thumb: remove the pending loops from the pin on one knitting needle, and on the other cast on the same number of air loops plus side loops. Knit on three stocking needles in a circle until you reach half of the nail. Then, at the end of each row, decrease the loop until there are only six of them on the spoke. Fix the top.

Step 6

Perform the elastic of the glove in the same way as for the mittens. Then knit three circular knit rows and start knitting a wedge; moreover, the left finger should be knitted on the needle number 4, and the right - on the number 3.

Step 7

Leave the last stitch at the end of the working knitting needle; make a yarn over and knit the left loop with the front; yarn over again. Continue 3 rows without adding, tying yarn over the backs.

Step 8

Loops should be added every 3 rounds: first, make 2 yarns before and after three loops at the end of the row on needle # 4; then leave more and more (odd!) number of loops untied: 5, 7, etc.

Step 9

Finish the wedge to the beginning of the toe and remove the loops onto the pins. After that, it is necessary to dial air loops over the wedge - there should be an even number of them and half as many as the wedge loops. Complete the circle.

Step 10

Start decreasing stitches from the next circular row. On knitting needle # 4, knit a pair of loops together on the left and right holes. Decrease through the row until you return to the original number of loops. Finish the thumb, like knitting a mitten, and continue working to the base of the little finger. At the same time, in the last circular row, leave the thread at the end of the needle number 2.

Step 11

Leave 6 stitches on needle # 2 and 5 stitches on needle # 3. Remove the rest on pins. After that, you need to knit 5 loops of the third knitting needle and dial in a pair of air to create a jumper. Tie the little finger to half of the nail and subtract it as if knitting with a thumb. Before you start working on the rest of the fingers, do a couple of rows in a circle - the jumper will rise to the knitting needles.

Step 12

Continue knitting the glove.

• For the ring finger, leave on the needles 6 loops of the top of the product, 2 for the bridge plus 5 loops from the bottom of the glove. For the next jumper, cast on a pair of air loops. Knit your finger on three needles an inch longer than your little finger.

• Middle finger: 7 top loops, 2 bridge loops and 6 bottom loops, plus 3 air loops. Make your finger half a centimeter longer than your ring finger.

• Finally, tie your index finger in the same way as your ring finger. The knitted glove is ready!
