One of the most popular trends in recent years has become a skirt with a train. This cut makes the model very original and unusual. Skirts with a train have become very relevant, as they are appropriate with a T-shirt in hot summer, and with elegant blouses at buffet receptions.
Instructions
Step 1
Calculate the exact width of the train so that it doesn't get too low. If it comes out strongly flared, then while walking it will pull up the skirt in front. Choose the method that suits you for the model of the product: cut "sun" with a seam at the waist, or cut from several separate cut-off wedges at the waist.
Step 2
Cut out individual wedges. To do this, make a fitting skirt out of paper or thin fabric. It must be wide enough to accurately determine the width of the train. Make various refinements on such a sample.
Step 3
Make the back wider than the front to make the skirt tilt. Take the fabric, calculate four wedges in the front and six in the back. If the width of the front bodice is 44 cm along the waist line, then each wedge is 11 cm wide, since there should be four wedges in front. If the width along the waistline of the back of the product is 36 cm, then each of the six gussets will be 6 cm. At the bottom of the front line, all gussets should be of the same width.
Step 4
Measure the minimum length for the train (20-30 cm). To calculate it correctly, measure the skirt from waist to floor and add 50 cm, this will be the train.
Step 5
Follow the drawings of one front and rear skirt wedges. On a large sheet of paper, alternately apply the front wedge twice and the back wedge three times. Make a drawing of the train, then cut the wedges. Transfer each to the fabric twice so that the thread of the fabric runs exactly in the middle of the fabric. Then connect all the wedges. Make a clasp at the back. Sew a narrow belt along the cut of the waist from the same fabric. This type of model should be worn with a lower skirt, the width of which depends on the width of the main product.
Step 6
Make the seams a little wider in the petticoat if it is a flared skirt. If the bottom of the product is excessively widened, then the lower skirt should be slightly narrower so that there is no additional expansion.
Step 7
Sew sun-cut skirts from thin, flying fabrics. Decide on the amount of expansion you need. Make a drawing of the product, consisting of one semicircle in half the waist circumference. Draw an oval train line. Follow the pattern first for a floor-length skirt, then add the required size of the train.
