As you know: the best toy for a child is one that is made by him / herself. Such a toy can be made with your child from just a few pieces of wood.
To make an acrobat that will descend an inclined plane, you will need two wooden blocks 1 centimeter thick, a small piece of plywood, rounded wooden cylinders or pencils, and glue.
The dimensions of the toy itself are chosen arbitrarily, depending on the availability of material. In the wooden block, which will be the base of the toy, an inclined groove is made in half the thickness of the bar. An inclined plane will be inserted into this groove, along which the acrobat will go down. The slope of the groove should be no more than 30 degrees, otherwise the speed of movement of the acrobat will be too high.
In an inclined plane, 13 holes must be drilled. Holes are drilled on opposite sides of the block, offset by half the distance of the holes on one side. The diameter of the holes is selected depending on the thickness of the wooden cylinders that will be inserted into them. Colored pencils are an excellent material for these cylinders. Pencils must be round, without edges. Planting pencils in the holes of the plane must be done with glue.
For the manufacture of the acrobat figurine itself, plywood with a thickness of no more than 5 millimeters is suitable. Draw the outline of the figure on the plywood according to the picture. The width of the figurine should be within the distance between the two pasted pencils on an inclined plane. Cutting an acrobat is best done with a jigsaw.
For better sliding of the acrobat on an inclined plane, plywood and wooden blocks must be sanded and varnished. To make the toy look more beautiful, the craft can be colored. The acrobat installed at the top will descend, waddling from one side to the other.
