Every outdoor enthusiast thinks of a lightweight and comfortable tent that can protect from rain and wind. Many people prefer to sew tents with their own hands. Knowing what the tent is made of and in what way, you will be firmly sure that it will not let you down in a critical situation.
It is necessary
- Decommissioned parachute
- Calendered nylon for roof and floor
- Nylon fine mesh
- Parachute lines or wide webbing
- Lightning not less than 90 cm
- 2 detachable zippers 45-50 cm each
- Hemp rope
- Metallic tailor ruler
- Metal square
- Soldering iron or wood burning machine
Instructions
Step 1
Cut out the floor of the tent and the back wall. They are covered with one piece of cloth. For a single tent with a 140 cm wide fabric, measure 2m along the length and draw a perpendicular to the edge until it intersects with the other edge. Check the length at the other edge. From both points, set aside another 50 cm and also draw a line, connecting both edges. Set aside another 25 cm along the edges, draw a line and find the middle. Connect it to the intersection points of the edges and the previous line. Lay out the fabric on the board and cut out the part with a soldering iron, remembering to leave allowances.
Step 2
Carve out a roof. It consists of two rectangles 2, 2 m long and 1, 2 m wide. From one of the edges, set aside 12 - 15 cm and draw a line parallel to the edge. Do the same on the other rectangle. If the fabric is one-sided, make sure the lines are symmetrical. Mark the line along which you will attach the front wall. Finish the side cuts of the roof. Find the middle of the roof side cut and mark the location for the bracing hole. Strengthen it with a double nylon square and insert the eyelet. Do the same on the other side. Likewise, reinforce the edges of the roof and insert the eyelets in place of the front and rear braces.
Step 3
Cut out the sidewalls. They are rectangles 2 m 50 cm long and 50 cm wide.
Step 4
Cut out the front wall. It has two parts. For the half of the front wall, draw a line perpendicular to the edges. From one point, set aside 50 cm along the edge and draw a perpendicular to the intersection with the second edge. Find the middle of the resulting line, draw a perpendicular and set aside 65 cm. Connect the resulting point with the intersection points of the previous line and edges. Cut out the front wall with a soldering iron. Fold it in half and cut it in half.
Step 5
For the nut, cut out a rectangle of 30x50 cm from dense fabric. Mark a place for the window on the back wall and cut it out. Cut an appropriate piece of mosquito netting and sew it into the window from the wrong side. Top it off with tape. You can also make a flap that will clip on from the inside. Attach the sill to the part of the floor that will adjoin the front wall.
Step 6
Cut out 2 rectangles 10x10 cm for the piece to be sewn between the roof ridge and the back wall. Sew them, turn them out, reinforce with a piece of sling and insert the eyelet.
Step 7
Mark a place for the pocket on the side wall. The pocket can be cut out of any fabric. Stitch it to the inside of the sidewall. If you want to make a window on the side wall, you need to mark and cut it out before you start assembling.
Step 8
Attach a 90 cm zipper to the halves of the front wall. If the zipper is one-piece, then it is more convenient to make its connected part at the top. It is more convenient to sew in a detachable zipper so that it opens from the bottom. Sew the 50 cm zipper pieces along the edges of the front wall that will connect to the floor and to the floor.
Step 9
Sew the roof. Attach a parachute line to the ridge. Do the same on the wrong side. At the junction of the roof and back wall, stitch the rectangle into which you have already inserted the grommet. Insert the eyelet from the side that will be above the front wall.
Step 10
Baste and stitch the side cuts of the front and side walls. Baste the resulting details to the roof along the outlined lines and stitch. Baste and stitch the floor and back wall to the resulting structure.
Step 11
Apply rubber glue to the seams and dry.
