For experienced RTS players, one of the important parameters is the angle of view. Of course, novice players like to bring the "camera" as close as possible in order to view the battlefield, but over time it comes to the understanding that the more objects are placed in the frame, the easier it is to control them. The problem is especially acute in the Warcraft series, because there the ability to notice a change in environment in time can turn the course of the entire game.

Step 1
Extend your distance with built-in capabilities. This can be done from the settings menu. Press the F10 key, then, in the menu that appears, select the "Settings" line, in it - "Interface". Move the slider that changes the "Camera" parameter as far to the right as possible. Change the resolution to the maximum suggested. This will distort the image somewhat (if the aspect ratio of the resolution does not correspond to the characteristics of the monitor), however, it will noticeably increase the number of objects on the screen.
Step 2
Use CamHack. This is a patch installed on Warcraft 3 in order to freely change the distance to infinity. Download the archive with the files and unpack them to the root directory of the game. However, be careful: the extended view gives you a significant advantage over other players, and therefore is a cheat. Not all Warcraft server administrators allow this kind of software.
Step 3
Some modifications provide observer mode. It can be activated only in the "spectator" state, i.e. not taking part in the game. However, it allows you to expand the view without installing mods. For example, in the DotA modification, this function is activated by the –zm command typed in the menu.
Step 4
In order to increase your view in World of Warcraft, you can use the "Settings" menu (similar to the first item). In addition, you can increase the distance using the console commands: / console CameraDistanceMaxFactor 3.4 and / console CameraDistanceMax 50. The first is responsible for the multiplier to the movement of the mouse wheel, the second is directly for the maximum distance. The values 3.4 and 50 in the commands can be changed. But, as practice shows, they are optimal.
Step 5
In WoW, there is a "Zoom out camera" spell. It does not increase the distance to the player - vision is transferred to the nearest Fel Cannon within a radius of 50,000 meters. You can get the skill through the systematic development of the "Darkness" school of magic.
