Pupils of pre-revolutionary grammar schools and Soviet schools wore a special uniform. It consisted of a dress (usually brown, sometimes blue) and two aprons. On weekdays, the girls wore a black apron, on holidays - a white one. Modern schoolgirls do not have a tradition of wearing outfits in the "retro" style, but at the last bell party, a brown dress with an elegant white apron is quite appropriate.
What to sew from
The styles of the white aprons were extremely varied. It could be an apron with two straps sewn directly to the belt. Aprons with bosom, trimmed with sewing or lace, were popular. The length was determined by the fashion. In any case, the apron had to be shorter than the dress. If the uniform was below the knee, the apron should have been shorter by 10-15 cm. Schoolgirls of the 70s wore very short skirts, the hem protruded from under the apron by about 5 cm. The most popular fabric was cambric, but the apron could be from a marquise. crepe de Chine, guipure.
Measurements
Take measurements. You need to know the waist circumference, the length of the lower part from the waist line to the bottom, the width of the lower part. For this last measurement, measure the distance between the bulging points of your hips. You need to measure by the belly. Also measure the distance from the chest line to the waist line and between the breasts. You also need to know the length of the strap. To do this, attach the zero mark of the centimeter tape to the sacrum, pass it over the shoulder to the chest line.
Cut open
Cut 2 rectangles out of the white fabric. The sizes of the larger one are the length of the lower part from the waist to the bottom (set aside this measurement along the lobar thread) and the distance between the most convex points of the hips. The dimensions of the second rectangle are the distance between the mammary glands and between the lines of the waist and chest (along the lobar thread). The breast can be made double. Cut out 2 stripes for the belt. The length of each is equal to the waist circumference, to which you need to add 5 cm for the fastener. Cut out 4 strap strips according to your measurement. Allowances of 0.5 cm should be left on all sides of the parts. It is better to trim the apron with sewing or lace. Measure the total length of the two short and one long sides of the large rectangle and shoulder strap. Multiply each result by 2, 5 and cut the strip to the appropriate length.
Assembly
Prepare strips for the straps. For each, smooth the seam allowance on one of the long sides on the wrong side. Sew the lace strip along a long cut, laying in folds. Fold 2 strips together, aligning the smoothed seams, and insert lace between them so that the lace edge is outside. Stitch off the layers, departing from the fold 0.3 cm. Make a second strip of the same. Fold over and press the seam allowances on the wrong side of the other side. Prepare the breast. It just needs to be folded from top to 0, 5 and 2, 5 cm and sewn. Sew the side sections of the breast into the shoulder straps. Sew the details 0.3 cm from the fold of the strap. Patch a large rectangle with lace on three sides. Prepare your belt. To do this, fold all allowances to the wrong side. Sew in between the strips of the belt, the breast together with the straps and the lower part. Do not forget to put the straps in the waist and at the back. Try on the product, if necessary, adjust the length of the straps. Sharpen the details. Sew on a button and sew a welt buttonhole.
