Sometimes the home library becomes too voluminous, and most of the books in the house have not been opened for many years. In this case, it might make sense to get rid of unnecessary publications by simply selling them at the best price. It remains to figure out how best to do this.
Instructions
Step 1
Old books of value can be sold in several ways. The easiest one is to take the books to a second-hand bookstore. There the books will be evaluated, accepted for commission, and asked to inquire from time to time if your copies have been sold. As a rule, you will receive money for books given to second-hand books after their sale.
Step 2
The second way is to put books up for auction or advertise for sale on the Internet. It will probably take time to spread the word about book sales, evaluate them, and find a buyer. If you have very rare antique books, try to find a buyer who specializes in just such books - in this case, you can count on a fair remuneration. Start your search for a specialist, for example, in the International Antique Book League.
Step 3
In order to sell books without intermediaries, use Internet search engines. Enter in the search box a query with the name of your book and add the words "looking for a book" or "buy a book." It is possible that someone has long and hopelessly been looking for exactly the publication that you have.
Step 4
The next step is to contact specialized sites where you can post an advertisement for the sale of books. Pay attention to the compilation of the announcement. A scanned image of the cover or title page will complement the ad well.
Step 5
When you find a buyer, discuss with him the option of exchanging the book for money. The best option is a personal meeting. If for some reason such a meeting is not possible, use mailing the book (cash on delivery). Be careful and prudent, do not fall for the bait of scammers.
