In network diaries, blogs, forum posts and social networks today, you can often find small beautiful pictures on which the owner's nickname or some kind of quote is inserted. Such pictures serve as a kind of epigraph for a blog, diary or website, and they can also be posted in your own profiles on various social services. You can create an epigraph picture in a matter of minutes.
Instructions
Step 1
Choose a suitable beautiful picture that you would like to see on the home page of your site, and then select a texture for the picture, choosing the one you like from the mass of textures that can be found on the Internet in collections for designers and artists working in computer graphics.
Step 2
Open the picture and texture in one common Adobe Photoshop document and place the picture layer above the texture layer. Use the Free Transform Tool (Ctrl + T) to resize the images to match each other, and then change the Blend Mode of the layers (Blend Mode) to Lighten.
Step 3
Select the Eraser Tool from the Toolbox and adjust the eraser so that it has a soft, soft edge. Erase one edge of the photo, trying to make the transition from image to texture smooth and invisible. Move the image a little if necessary to reveal more of the texture.
Step 4
Decorate the future epigraph with additional visual effects - desaturate your image by pressing the key combination Ctrl + Shift + U, and then select a new layer blending mode, for example, Soft Light.
Step 5
To make the epigraph picture look complete, using the Type Tool, write in any suitable font any phrase or quote from a movie or book that you like on the texture area. Color the text in any color. Erase some areas of the text with a semi-transparent soft eraser.
