Parents know how important it is to instill in their child reading skills and a love of the book. Reading should be started as early as possible, and for kids it is not at all necessary for the book to contain a coherent story. But older kids are much more interested in books with stories about different characters. Imagine how much a child will be interested in a book that tells … about himself? Surely he himself will be fired up with the idea to come up with plots for such a book. And caring parents will only have to help him capture his stories on paper with the help of scrap materials.

It is necessary

  • - a sheet of thick paper;
  • - threads with a needle;
  • - magazines with pictures, product catalogs, advertising brochures;
  • - pencils, markers, paints.

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare materials for the base of the book and for its filling. Cut out beautiful and interesting pictures of various subjects from magazines, product catalogs, advertising brochures. You will stick them on the pages of the book, illustrating stories invented with your child.

Step 2

From a sheet of thick paper, fold the base of the book using the origami technique. The paper size depends on the size of the book you would like to receive. For example, from a whole sheet of Whatman paper (A0) you will get a book of A4 landscape format, and from half a sheet (A2) - a book the size of a half-album sheet (A5 format). Fold the sheet in half along the short side. Turn the paper over and fold each of the resulting halves in half inward.

Step 3

Now straighten the sheet and turn it over to its original position, fold it in half along the long side. Then unfold the paper and fold it in half again along the short side of the rectangle. You can see the criss-cross folds in front of you dividing the folded paper into four sections.

Step 4

On one side of this "cross", located on the side of the fold of the sheet folded in half, cut the paper (up to the center fold going down the center). As a result, when you fully unfold the sheet, you will have a horizontal slot in the center of the sheet.

Step 5

Unfold the sheet and again, without turning it over, bend it in half along the long, slotted side inward. The folded sheet looks like a rectangle with three parallel folds. The central fold is directed upward (outward), and the side folds are directed downward (inward) of the sheet.

Step 6

Take the paper by both ends and fold the sheet in a plane perpendicular to the original. You will end up with four double pages facing opposite directions of the compass. Fold the resulting booklet so that the pages fold into a booklet.

Step 7

To get a thicker book, make several of these booklets and sew them together with threads: open each of them in the middle (two double pages on each side) and fold one on top of the other in this form, and then sew along the fold.

Step 8

Paste pictures illustrating the adventures of your baby into the resulting book, devote some chapters to describing his character, hobbies and preferences. Pictures can be drawn, as well as inscriptions. In short, write and design this book as your fantasy tells you.
