Instructions
Step 1
Choose the right container to create your "bottle garden" - it can be a regular bottle or jar, you can choose a large glass, a glass or even a chemical flask. It all depends on your imagination and the ability to further provide plants with a favorable development in this container.
Step 2
Choose plants suitable for growing in the "bottle garden", the choice is wide enough: fittonia, common ivy, pilea, calamus, small-leaved varieties of begonia, chamedorea, cryptactus, dwarf ficus, arrowroot, dracaena Sander, calathea, saxifrage, etc. Plants should be combined with each other according to growth conditions: requirements for lighting, watering.
Step 3
Prepare the soil, it should be nutritious and light in structure: mix garden soil with peat, humus and coarse river sand.
Step 4
Pour a drainage layer (fine gravel, expanded clay, pebbles, etc.) on the bottom of the planting tank, sprinkle a thin layer of charcoal on top - it absorbs an unpleasant odor and takes excess moisture from the soil. Next, fill in the moistened soil mixture and level.
Step 5
Prepare the plants, remove from the pots, keeping the soil on the roots; extra roots (too long) can be trimmed.
Step 6
Make depressions in the soil and plant the plants of your choice. Plant from the center of the planting container. Water or spray the soil and plants.
Step 7
Decorate your "bottle garden" - the soil can be covered with pebbles, decorated with unusual stones and various decorative elements: artificial insects, shells, curved twigs, etc.
Step 8
Care consists in moderate watering of the soil along the edge of the planting tank; pruning and forming plants so that your miniature garden does not turn into impenetrable jungle. Feed the plants. Do not forget to keep the planting containers clean - wipe them with a sponge or cotton pad.
