Step 1
Growing a sunflower from seeds, you achieve two goals at once - you get bright flowers that can be used for bouquets, and you also get delicious seeds!
First, choose a landing site. You can choose a small area near the fence and thus decorate it, you can sow a whole field or plant several plants in the middle of the flower bed, the main thing is that the place is sunny.
Dig up the ground with villas or a shovel, remove the weeds, and make grooves 70 cm apart.
Step 2
If you are not thinking about growing a particular variety of sunflower, you can use regular raw seeds that are sold in the store for planting. And if you are interested in growing an ornamental sunflower or varietal seed, then contact the appropriate store for seeds.
Step 3
It is worth sowing a sunflower in May, from the beginning to the end of the month, when the earth warms up to 10 degrees at a depth of 10 centimeters. Pre-soaking or any other processing of the seed is not required. The sunflower is a very unpretentious plant, you can put the seed on its side in order to be sure that it will germinate correctly. Seeds should be covered at a depth of 4 cm.
Step 4
Sprinkle the seed furrows with soil, and wait for shoots. If the ground was wet when planting, then watering the plants is not necessary. As a rule, in May the earth does not have time to dry out yet, therefore, there will be no problems with a lack of water. After germination, control the planting density, thin out the plants.
